This tool has been carefully designed to help organisations check their compliance with the FPRP code. It aims to facilitate a structured approach to evaluating and evidencing good practice standards amongst for-profit providers within the sector.

The checklist should complement any organisation’s management and reporting arrangements, assurance frameworks and improvement plans set out elsewhere.
About the British Property Federation FPRP Code of Governance
The For-Profit Registered Provider (FPRP) Code of Governance was written by Campbell Tickell, with oversight and advice from a steering group drawn from the British Property Foundation’s Affordable Housing Committee and chaired by Rob Beiley of Trowers and Hamlins.
The Code establishes a set of standards which embody and aim to promote good governance practice in the for-profit registered provider (FPRP) sector in England. Institutional Investment – largely via FPRPs – plays a valuable and increasingly significant role in the provision of affordable housing, and the BPF’s members recognise the importance of good governance in safeguarding the interests of shareholders, customers, and other stakeholders, and in protecting the reputation of the sector.
Structured around seven core themes, the new Code of Governance provides a framework to safeguard the interests of both shareholders and customers, and to protect the reputation of the sector.
Compliance checklist
The checklist follows the principles and themes set out in the code and allows users to present evidence and identify any key actions that are needed.
The key themes are:
- Leadership and strategy
- Culture and values
- Board composition and effectiveness
- Board roles and functions
- Delegation of delivery
- Integrity and probity
- Audit and risk
