CT Consumer Regulation Masterclass for Local Authorities & ALMOs
Consumer Regulation is changing. Are you prepared?
A FREE online masterclass for local authorities and ALMOs
The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) currently takes an active approach to regulating housing associations’ compliance with regards to ‘economic’ regulatory standards. Up until now however, the RSH has been constrained in its approach to compliance around ‘consumer’ standards, including: service delivery, safe homes, and tenant involvement.
This is about to change. From April 2024, under the forthcoming Social Housing Regulation Bill, housing associations and stock-holding local authorities will be required to demonstrate their adherence to consumer standards.
This free masterclass has been designed to help local authorities, who have up until now faced little active regulatory focus, prepare for proactive consumer regulation and inspection.
Programme Highlights
Delegates will hear from Kate Dodsworth, chief of regulatory engagement at the RSH, and from pilot organisations, including the London Boroughs of Enfield and Croydon. We will also hear from Helen McHale CEO of Stockport Homes, who will share perspectives from an ALMO.
In addition, speakers from Campbell Tickell who are working with several of the pilot organisation will share:
- The preparations you should be making
- Lessons learnt from the pilots and from current and withdrawn regulatory notices
- Top tips on preparing for inspection and engaging with the regulator
- The importance of quality data (and what data you should be gathering)
- What the Tenant Satisfaction Measures tell you (and what they don’t)
- How to develop a simple, coherent, comprehensive assurance framework
The event is a great opportunity to share best practice and learn from your peers, and with Q&A sessions throughout the agenda, delegates will have the chance to put their questions to all speakers.
Who should attend?
This event is designed for senior team members/heads of housing at local authorities and ALMO.
