Issue: 62 | October 2022
Welcome to another special Ireland edition, where Campbell Tickell’s presence continues to build. Our consultancy work in Ireland over the past few years has included projects on governance and board facilitation, finance (golden rules, stress-testing, risk appetite and management, and investment modelling), tenant and stakeholder engagement, research, strategic planning, homelessness, operational service reviews, growth options and collaboration / merger support. At the same time, we have helped numerous organisations with recruiting senior executives and non-executives.
In the process, we have worked with government departments and agencies, local authorities, housing associations, care providers, charities, and trade bodies.
In the Republic of Ireland, the sector is operating under the new Housing for All Action Plan. We have seen the introduction of statutory regulation for approved housing bodies, which hopefully will assist in facilitating investment in and delivery of more social and affordable Cost Rental homes.
In Northern Ireland, political instability continues amidst increasing inflation, interest rates rising and a cost-of-living crisis. As elsewhere, this is impacting greatly on the vulnerable client groups the sector serves. We await and hope for a fully functioning Assembly at Stormont at the earliest opportunity.
This special edition features authors on topics across the isle of Ireland, as well as articles on such issues as social housing rents, service charges and managing empty properties. We hope you find it useful and as always welcome your feedback.
