Since the outbreak, SPEAR’s front line teams have been working harder than ever, with over 160 additional rough sleepers urgently accommodated in just one month to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Accommodation is only the start. SPEAR provides health advocacy, tenancy support and skills development as an opportunity to rebuild lives and prevent returning to the street. This additional work happens when our income has been massively impacted by the outbreak. Events that would have raised thousands to provide these central services have had to be postponed or cancelled.
